Pool League
2011-2012 Season

All
eligible shooters who wish to shoot in the tournament are to meet on
2.
The
league provides up to $150.00 towards the winning places, paying out to
3.
The
Player Entry Fee is $10.00 per person due
at sign-up, the day of the tournament.
4.
All
players that shoot a minimum of 1/3 of the season (7 weeks/21 games) are
eligible to shoot in the tournament.
5.
We
will be shooting “Luck of the Draw” partners.
6.
We
will divide the shooters equally in half by percentages – the top shooters and
the lower shooters for fair partnering purposes.
7.
Bars
with one table, and less that 12 teams shooting, we will be shooting the best
of two out of three games in the winner’s bracket, and only one game in the
loser’s bracket.
8.
Bars
with two tables will be shooting double elimination, the best of two out of
three games in the winner’s and loser’s brackets.
9.
A
quarter kitty will be started at the beginning of the
tournament. Final rules will be decided
on the day of the tournament and you must be present to win.
10.
The
day of the tournament is “Pot Luck”. The home bar supplies the main dish, while
participating players bring a dish to pass.
The home bar is to supply Jello shots.
11.
All
players must be of legal drinking age.
12.
On
the break, the cue ball must touch the rack to be considered a break. If both teams agree, a re-rack may take
place.
13. A
scratch on the break and one or more balls go in, it
is considered an open table.
14. An 8-ball break is RE-RACKED.
15.
Any
part of the ball over the line is in the kitchen. When shooting after a scratch, the player
must shoot her next shot with the entire cue ball behind the head-string.
16.
Shooter
must call or point out ball and pocket to the opponent before every shot. If the opponent is not sure what is being
called, she must ask BEFORE the shot
is taken. If shooter makes a shot
without calling it, the opponent may
call a foul, resulting in a loss of turn.
17.
On
the break, if you make in a solid or stripe ball, without scratching, you must
shoot at what was made in. If you make
in one or more of each on the break, you have your choice as to which one to
take.
18.
A
shooter must hit her ball first. The
8-ball is not neutral. If it is obvious
that she will use the 8-ball, call the foul before she shoots. If she uses it she loses the game.
19. If
the table is open, you can use any combination of balls, except the
8-ball. The 8-ball can be in the middle of two other balls.
20.
All
players shooting a game should be at the table at all times. Nobody other than the team that is up to
shoot may touch the table during the games.
No coaching is allowed by anyone in the bar. Teammates
can talk things over with each other.
21.
Any
movement of the cue ball by the stick is considered a shot.
22.
Any
balls’ movement caused by a foul must stay where they stopped. A foul is defined as any ball being moved by
a body part, bridge, cue stick follow through or clothing. The opponent must call the foul. If a teammate brings the foul to the player’s
attention the shooter will not lose her turn.
If any balls are pocketed on a foul, then the player committing the foul
must put money in the table and the ball should be spotted. That player then loses her turn. If a ball is moved or knocked in as a result
of a by-stander, or by an actual by-stander it is also spotted. Place the ball closest to the spot of the
foul and that player reshoots.
23.
Part
of one foot must always be touching the floor when shooting.
24.
If
a player shoots and the ball hangs in the pocket and then drops in when the
shooter walks away, it is still their table if the next shooter has not gotten
to the table to shoot.
25.
If
you are being harassed, talk to the President, Vice-President or the Secretary.
26.
If
the cue ball goes off the table it is considered a scratch. If any other ball goes off the table it is
spotted and the player loses her turn.
27.
Calling
the 8-ball to follow your last ball in the same shot is a win, unless the 8
ball drops first or a bad hit occurs.
28.
Scratching
while shooting at the 8-ball, but not making it, is not a loss.
29.
When
your opponent scratches and all of your object balls are in the kitchen, you
have the option to spot the ball nearest to the head-string. This ball must be spotted on the dot opposite
the kitchen. You must also shoot at the
spotted ball. This rule applies if your
last ball is the 8-ball.
30.
All
winnings are paid out on Awards Night.
The number of places paid out will depend on the number of
shooters/teams participating each season.
