Newburg Area Women’s Pool League
2011-2012 Season
1.
All matches to
start at
2.
Sponsor Fee of $45.00 is due with the standings from the first night of
pool.
3.
Player Fee is $5.00 per person per night. If you
wish to pay for the entire year it must be for the entire team ($270.00).
4.
Any team that
cannot shoot must notify the opposing team by
5.
The Visiting team breaks the first and third rounds. The Home team breaks the second round. Players use their own money for racking. The Home
team rotates.
6.
All Players must
be of legal drinking age.
7.
In an emergency
situation, a licensed, known, female bartender may sub for the home team, if
not already subbing/shooting for another team.
The bartender can be listed in addition to the 5 subs already noted on
the roster.
An 8-ball break is considered
a win unless the player scratches, then it is a loss.
8.
Any part of the
ball over the line is in the kitchen. When
shooting after a scratch, the player must shoot her next shot with the entire
cue ball behind the head-string.
9.
Shooter must
call or point out ball and pocket to the opponent before every shot. If the opponent is not sure what is being
called, she must ask BEFORE the shot
is taken. If shooter makes a shot
without calling it, the opponent may
call a foul, resulting in a loss of turn.
10.
On the break, if
you make in a solid or stripe ball, without scratching, you must shoot at what
was made in. If you make in one or more
of each on the break, you have your choice as to which one to take.
11.
A shooter must
hit her ball first. The 8-ball is not
neutral. If it is obvious that she will
use the 8-ball, call the foul before she shoots. If she uses it she loses the game.
12.
If the table is
open, you can use any combination of balls, except the 8-ball. The 8-ball can be in the middle of two other
balls.
13.
Both players
shooting should be at the table at all times.
No other team member may touch the table during the game. No coaching is allowed by anyone on the team
or in the bar.
14.
Any movement of
the cue ball by the stick is considered a shot.
15.
Any balls’
movement caused by a foul must stay where they stopped. A foul is defined as any ball being moved by
a body part, bridge, cue stick follow through or clothing. The opponent must call the foul. If a teammate brings the foul to the player’s
attention the shooter will not lose her turn.
If any balls are pocketed on a foul, then the player committing the foul
must put money in the table and the ball should be spotted. That player then loses her turn. If a ball is moved or knocked in as a result
of a by-stander, or by an actual by-stander it is also spotted. Place the ball closest to the spot of the
foul and that player reshoots.
16.
Part of one foot
must always be touching the floor when shooting.
17.
If a ball hangs
in the pocket and then drops in while the shooter walks away, it is still their
table as long as the next shooter has not gotten to the table to shoot.
18.
If you are being
harassed, talk to both captains and the bartender.
19.
If the cue ball
goes off the table it is considered a scratch.
If any other ball goes off the table it is spotted and the player loses
her turn.
20.
Calling the
8-ball to follow your last ball in the same shot is a win, unless the 8-ball
drops first or a bad hit occurs.
21.
Scratching while
shooting at the 8-ball, but not making the 8-ball, is not a loss.
22.
Table run: This occurs when you pocket all of your
object balls and the 8-ball on your first time to the table.
23.
If you have to
shoot all three of your games ahead of the normal shooting cycle, you must
leave within one-half of an hour after your last game is complete.
24.
When your
opponent scratches and all of your object balls are in the kitchen, you have
the option to spot the ball nearest to the head-string. This ball must be spotted on the dot opposite
the kitchen. You must also shoot at the
spotted ball. This rule also applies if
your last ball is the 8-ball.
25.
Both teams must fill out their own score sheet each
night. Three (3) complete names must be
listed. If a team is missing a player, 3
games per missing player will be forfeited.
A match can be play with 1 thru 3 players. Teams that wish to forfeit due to not enough
players or any other non-emergency reason will be fined $25.00 to come out of
their prize money at the end of the year.
They will also be charged the $15.00 for league fees that is turned into
the secretary. Captains must sign each
others score sheets.
26.
Captains are
responsible for collecting all money. If
money is not turned in it will be deducted from win money, along with a fine.
27.
If the team has
a late member, she must be there by her 2nd game, if not; she
forfeits her 1st and 2nd games. If not there by the 3rd game she
forfeits that one also.
28.
Each tavern must
have standings, rules, and schedule posted.
Your standings are equivalent to the actual roster.
29.

is based on number of games won. The Top
Ten shooters are determined by games won, but only players that have shot 80%
of the season are eligible. In case of a
